Questions and Answers

What does hypnosis feel like?

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural restful state, often experienced during every day life.  It's a little bit like day dreaming.  The feeling is extremely comfortable and very pleasant.  Hypnosis alone, is pure relaxation and is wonderfully beneficial - think of it as a gentle massage for the mind.

What happens during a session?

Every session is unique and tailored to each individual but generally, you will be quickly induced into a deeply relaxing hypnotic trance.  In this highly suggestible state of mind, your personal therapy is delivered very effctively. You will then gently awaken, fully conscious and alert. Afterwards clients feel wonderfully refreshed with a sense of well being and most report the best night's sleep ever.

Will you make me do something with which I am not comfortable?

Absolutely not!  This is not "stage hypnosis".  During clinical hypnosis you are always in complete control and will not engage with anything that is not comfortable to you.  Clinical Hypnotherapy is a safe, professional and ethical health treatment, always with your well-being and ecology in mind.

How many sessions will I need?

That does rather depend on the individual and the issue.  Typically we would expect most treatments to be between three and six sessions, with Smoking and Phobias generally resolved in one session.

Is all hypnotherapy the same?

This is a great question, especially if you have had hypnotherapy before.  The answer is a resounding NO.  Some hypnotherapists have a "one size fits all" approach to therapy, some read from a script and some don't actually put the client into hypnosis - just physical relaxation. Those types of therapy can be helpful and solution focused,  but tend to require 10, 15 or even more sessions and have limited success.

Is Hypnotherapy guaranteed to work?

Yes and no!  Let me explain.

All Hypnotherapy works, to some extent, provided the subject is a willing participant.  The level of success is not always immediately apparent.  The speed at which treatments begin to take effect varies from client to client; so some people experience an immediate and profound transformation, while others notice effects later on, or feel the benefits develop over a little time. What IS guaranteed, is that using my methods, every session will definitely have a beneficial effect.
